FISHING POLK COUNTY

With over 400 lakes and streams, Polk County offers a variety of fishing challenges and excitement. Polk County lakes and streams team with many of the best species of game fish:



ALABAMA LAKES: 98 acres. Three miles north of Cushing. Largemouth Bass, Panfish and Yellow Perch.

ANTLER LAKE: 101 acres. Four miles east of Milltown. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Yellow Perch and Walleye.

APPLE RIVER FLOWAGE: 639 acres. Throughout county. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Muskellunge.

BASS LAKE: 138 acres. Nine miles east of Luck. Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike. Subject to winter kill.

BALSAM LAKE: 2,054 acres. Village of Balsam Lake. Panfish, Walleye, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike. DNR Walleye stocked every-other year.

BEAR TRAP LAKE: 241 acres. Three miles west of Amery. Panfish, Warmouth, White Bass, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Carp, Northern Pike, and Muskellunge.

BIG LAKE: 259 acres. Ten miles east of Osceola. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike. DNR stocked every-other year.

BIG BUTTERNUT LAKE: 378 acres. Village of Luck. Panfish, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, DNR stocked every-other year.

BIG ROUND LAKE: 1,015 acres. Twelve miles northeast of Balsam Lake. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike and Warmouth. DNR stocked every-other year.

BLAKE LAKE: 302 acres. Ten miles northeast of Balsam Lake. Panfish, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Walleye and Muskellunge.

BLACK BROOK FLOWAGE: 98 acres. Two miles southwest of Amery. Panfish, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, and Muskellunge.

BONE LAKE: 1,781 acres. Seven miles southeast of Luck. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Muskellunge and Northern Pike. DNR stocked with Musky each year.

CAMELIA LAKE: 60 acres. Village of Clayton. Panfish, Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.

CHURCH PINE LAKE: 107 acres. Nine miles southeast of Osceola. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Walleye and Northern Pike. DNR stocked with Walleye.

CLAM FALLS FLOWAGE: 127 acres. Village of Clam Falls. Panfish, Northern Pike, and Largemouth Bass.

CLAREY (TWIN) LAKES: 34 acres. One mile northeast of Eureka Center. Panfish, Rainbow Trout, bluegill and Largemouth Bass. DNR stocked with Rainbow Trout.

CLEAR LAKE: 30 acres. Village of Clear Lake. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Walleye and Northern Pike.

COON LAKE: 54 acres. Village of Frederic. Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike.

CRESCENT (PICKEREL) LAKE: 19 acres. Seven miles east of Luck. Stocked with Rainbow Trout.

DEER LAKE: 807 acres. Five miles east of St. Croix Falls. Panfish, Muskellunge, Largemouth Bass, Walleye and Northern Pike. Stocked with Muskellunge.

DIAMOND LAKE: 126 acres. Four miles north of Frederic. Panfish, Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.

EAST (LOTUS) LAKE: 246 acres. Two miles southeast Dresser. Panfish, Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.

GRENQUIST LAKE: 58 acres. One half mile southwest of McKinley. Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike.

HALFMOON LAKE: 579 acres. Three miles north of Balsam Lake. Panfish, Walleye, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike. Walleye fingerlings are stocked in alternate years.

HERBY LAKE: 69 acres. One and a half miles north of Cushing. Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike.

HORSE LAKE: 228 acres. Five miles southeast of Dresser. Panfish, Northern Pike, Carp and Largemouth Bass.

HORSESHOE LAKE: 377 acres. Five miles north of Turtle Lake. Panfish, Largemouth Bass Northern Pike and Walleye.

KING LAKE: 49 acres. Two miles southwest of Amery. Panfish and Northern Pike.

LAMONT LAKE: 96 acres. Eight miles east of Luck. Panfish and Largemouth Bass.

LAND O' THE DALLES: 23 acres. Interstate Park. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike, Carp, Buffalo, Sheepshead, White Sucker, Mooneye and Bowfin.

LARGON LAKE: 129 acres. Twelve miles north and west of Cumberland. Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike.

LITTLE BUTTERNUT LAKE: 189 acres. West of luck. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye. Stocked with Walleye on alternate years.

LITTLE ROUND LAKE: 67 acres. 11 miles east of Balsam Lake. Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike.

LONG LAKE: 272 acres. One mile east of Centuria. Panfish, Northern Pike and Walleye rare. Stocked with Northern Pike fingerlings.

LONG (HELBIG) LAKE: 65 acres. Thrteen miles east of Balsam Lake. Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike.

LONG (MOCCASIN) LAKE: 55 acres. Five miles east of Luck. Panfish, Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.

LONG TRADE LAKE: 153 acres. Eight miles northwest of Luck. Panfish, Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass and Walleye rare.

LOVELESS LAKE: 141 acres. Two miles southwest of Balsam Lake. Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike.

LOWER PINE LAKE: 90 acres. Two miles northwest of Star Prairie. Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike.

MAGNOR LAKE: 224 acres. One mile southwest of Clayton. Panfish, Walleye, Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass. Stocked with Walleye fingerlings every other year.

McKENZIE LAKE: 60 acres. Eleven miles northeast of Luck. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Brook Trout and Brown Trout rare.

NORTH TWIN LAKE: 125 acres. City of Amery. Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Walleye.

NORTH WHITE ASH: 119 acres. Eleven miles east of Balsam Lake. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Muskellunge rare.

PIKE LAKE: 159 acres. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Walleye.

PINE (MIDDLE) LAKE: 153 acres. Three miles northwest of Star Prairie. Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike.

PINE LAKE: 82 acres. Nine miles east of Luck. Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Panfish.

PIPE LAKE: Fifteen miles east of Balsam Lake. Walleye, Smallmouth Bass, Panfish, Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.

POPLAR LAKE: 125 acres. Two miles southeast of St. Croix Falls. Panfish.

ROUND (DWIGHT) LAKE: 67 acres. Six miles east of Osceola. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Carp present.

SAND LAKE: 187 acres. Four miles east of Dresser. Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Panfish and Northern Pike.

SILVER LAKE: 28 acres. Three miles northwest of Turtle Lake. Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike and Panfish.

SOUTH TWIN LAKE: 74 acres. City of Amery. Panfish, Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.

STRAIGHT LAKE: 107 acres. Three miles northeast of Luck. Panfish, Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.

SWEDE LAKE: 68 acres. Three miles north of Star Prairie. Panfish and Largemouth Bass.

TARBET LAKE: 42 acres. Eight miles west of Luck. Largemouth Bass, Panfish and Northern Pike.

VINCENT LAKE: 70 acres. Eight miles southeast of Luck. Largemouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Panfish.

WAPOGASSET LAKE: 1,186 acres. Three miles west of Amery. Largemouth Bass, Walleye, Panfish, Northern Pike, Muskellunge, Warmouth and White Bass.

WARD LAKE: 91 acres. Nine miles northeast of Luck. Walleye abundant, Panfish, Largemouth Bass and Northern Pike.

WILD GOOSE LAKE: 182 acres. Two miles southeast of Balsam Lake. Panfish, Largemouth Bass, and Northern Pike.

WHITE ASH LAKE: 153 acres. Eleven miles east of Balsam Lake. Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Panfish and Muskellunge rare.
